Education

Western New York’s school districts rank highly, with students consistently scoring above average on national exams such as the SATs and ACTs. Most areas within Western New York have independent school districts and several rank among the top in New York State. In addition, the Buffalo Public Schools system—the largest in the region—includes City Honors School, which is consistently ranked among the top schools in the country by sources such as Newsweek and U.S. News & World Report. About 37% of students continue on to earn associate, bachelor and master degrees from approximately two dozen Western New York’s colleges and universities.
