The DOL provides assistance to both employers and workers with tools for success by administering a variety of workforce development services. Such programs include customized training grants and a website that allows employers to post job openings statewide. There are nearly 30 colleges and universities in the Western New York area. These higher education institutions graduate about 20,000 students per year – 800 of which are from area universities’ specialized life sciences degree programs.
