Buffalo Niagara Enterprise claims 21 "wins," names new chairman

Matt Glynn - News Business Reporter

Buffalo Niagara Enterprise, which markets the region to businesses, reported 21 new project "wins" in its past fiscal year, at its annual meeting in Buffalo today.

The BNE defines a win as a client company that commits to investing in new or expanded operations in the region. The 21 projects represented $1.8 billion in new private sector investment and the creation or retention of 2,389 jobs, the BNE said.

The BNE also introduced David Smith, chief operating officer of National Fuel Gas, as its new board chairman. Randall Clark, chairman of Dunn Tire, stepped down as BNE chairman after six years in the role.
