Buffalo Named a “4-Star Community” in Annual Quality of Life Rankings

The Buffalo Niagara region was honored with Expansion Management Magazine’s 2006 “4-Star Quality of Life Community” designation.

The 8th annual rankings, appearing in Expansion Management’s May/June 2006 editions, name the Buffalo-Cheektowaga-Tonawanda, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) among 72 MSAs nationwide to achieve the 4-star rating.

Overall, 362 MSAs were evaluated according to 49 statistical categories to determine what the judges felt were the best places – from a livability and affordability standpoint – for manufacturing companies to grow and prosper.

The top 20% of all MSAs earned the magazine’s “5-Star” distinction, with the next 20% earning the “4-star” designation.
