Buffalo Niagara Makes Top 10 Office Construction Ranking

The Buffalo Niagara Region was the ninth rated region in the United States for office construction starts in the 4th quarter of 2005, according to a new report by McGraw-Hill publishing.

The McGraw-Hill Construction/Dodge Report ranks Buffalo Niagara as the nation's number nine market for Office Construction Starts based on square footage of new project start-ups. Buffalo Niagara projects total 799,500 square feet for the quarter.

During the same quarter, the Buffalo Niagara Metropolitan Statistical Area ranked thirteenth in terms of value of office starts at $90.5 million.

A significant portion of the Buffalo-Niagara statistics is attributed to the start of construction of the Health Now New York corporate headquarters in downtown Buffalo, a 483,000 square foot project valued at $65 million.

The information in the McGraw-Hill Construction/Dodge reports is collected by a staff of reporters and correspondents across the country. When a project contained in the Dodge Reports breaks ground, its information is entered into the McGraw-Hill Construction Analysis System (CAS), which are then aggregated into a database available for analysis and use by members of the construction industry.
