Buffalo Niagara Ranked a "4-Star Business Opportunity Community"

The Buffalo Niagara region was honored with Expansion Management Magazine's 2006 "4-Star Business Opportunity Metro" designation as part of the national publication's 4th annual "Mayor's Challenge" competition.

The rankings, appearing in Expansion Management's July/August 2006 editions, name the Buffalo-Cheektowaga-Tonawanda, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) among 72 MSAs nationwide to achieve the 4-star rating. A total of 362 communities participated in the challenge.

The rankings are based on each community's "quotient" determined by surveys of education, healthcare costs, quality of life, logistics, worker knowledge, legislative-business climate and site selector perception ("Hottest Cities"), conducted by Expansion Management over the past year.

Expansion Management is a bimonthly business magazine for executives of companies that are actively looking for a place to expand or relocate their facilities within the next one to three years. Every year, the magazine's award-winning research department conducts a number of studies that compare communities according to a wide variety of characteristics important to corporate site selectors.
