Christopher Finn

Research Manager

Research Manager Christopher Finn holds a Masters in Urban Planning from the University at Buffalo and is an expert at economic impact modeling, ImPlan software, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping, and regional comparative analysis. Chris’ expertise and experience make him an invaluable member of the research team at Buffalo Niagara Enterprise (BNE). He recently helped develop BNE’s site selection database through a partnership with the local association of commercial realtors. The database includes local demographic, labor, and business data, in conjunction with a commercial real estate listing system (CLS). The site incorporates GIS technology and was the first of its kind, for a sub-state economy, in the nation. Chris helps to maintain BNE’s “toolkit” of data, which is used to quickly and accurately respond to a company’s data needs for local knowledge on the region. His other tasks include responding to companies’ requests for information (RFIs), lead generation, and target industry analysis. Chris also manages BNE’s social media presence.

Although he was born and raised in Albany, NY, Chris moved to Buffalo in 1997 to pursue his bachelor’s degree in urban planning and regional analysis at Buffalo State College.

“I moved to the region for my education, but stayed because it’s perfect for me.  Small enough to not feel lost, like some cities, but big enough so that I'm never bored. Professional sports, active night life, amazing culture, four seasons of outdoor activities, all with a low cost of living makes my life work here.”
