Hortons Buys Land for New Alden Store
Monday, October 10, 2011

Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop, which has a kiosk operation in a Tops Markets' store in Alden, is about to welcome a new neighbor — itself.
Tim Hortons will be opening a free-standing location on Broadway almost directly across the street from the Tops supermarket where it already operates a small, kiosk service center for customers.
Construction on the Tim Horton has just begun, with the outlet due to open by late winter.
Tim Donut U.S. Limited, a Tim Hortons affiliate, purchased the one-acre parcel at 12896 Broadway, paying $325,000, according to documents filed in the Erie County Clerk’s office.
The Alden location is one of several that Tim Hortons has in its local development pipeline.
Last week, the Ontario-based company paid $350,000 for a similar-sized parcel along Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo.
Tim Hortons, founded and named after the late Buffalo Sabres defenseman, has 173 locations including stand along stores and kiosk centers in the region.
