Tripathi, Zemsky to Head Local Economic Development Council

Satish K. Tripathi, the president of University at Buffalo, and developer Howard A. Zemsky, will serve as the co-chairmen of the new regional economic development advisory council for Western New York, Gov. Cuomo announced today.

Cuomo also released the names of the other members of the 30-member advisory council, whose recommendations for job-creation ideas will not necessarily guarantee that the projects will receive funding from the Cuomo administration or its economic development agencies.

"With the regional councils, we will empower individual areas like Western New York to chart their own course for job creation and growth," Cuomo said.
