Upstate MedTech Commercialization Centre joins BIA/NYS
Genesee County's Dr. Bruce Holm Upstate MedTech Commercialization Centre joins BIA/NYS
Submitted by admin on March 31, 2011
Our newest member is the Dr. Bruce A. Holm Upstate MedTech Commercialization Centre, a project of the Genesee County Economic Development Center (GCEDC), which is developing a 34-acre Med & Tech Park in Batavia, across the street from Genesee Community College (GCC).
The MedTech Centre is a new 43,000 square-foot building where the main tenants include the GCEDC itself, First Wave Technologies LLC, the School of Nursing of GCC, OT/PT facilities of a regional medical center, and an outreach office of the regional NYS Small Business Development Center.
The remaining 6,100 square feet are available for incubation-stage tenants in the life sciences and high-tech manufacturing. The center's name honors the late executive director of the New York State of Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics in Buffalo, a distinguished biomedical researcher and entrepreneur at SUNY's
University at Buffalo (UB). GCEDC maintains an active partnership with the UB Center of Excellence.
