Pharma Production at Medical Campus
Business First - by Tracey Drury
April 4, 2011
A new partnership will see small scale pharmaceutical manufacturing begin on the Buffalo NiagaraMedical Campus.
The Life Science Link signed a deal with QuaDPharma Inc. for small scale pharmaceutical manufacturing services. The company provides contract manufacturing of custom formulation design, manufacturing, process development, analytical testing and stability program management services for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
The Life Science Link is a consulting firm made of six area life-science professionals who work with start-ups, researchers and growing firms in that industry. In February, the organization signed a deal with BNMC officials for 13,000 square feet in the ground floor of the Innovation Center at 640 Ellicott St.
Vic Nole, a principal in the group, said the group intended to begin using the space in late spring for a laboratory supply and contract commercial operations business.
QuaDPharma, based in Clarence, was founded late last year. Company founder and president, Stephen Panaro, brings experience from management positions at Contract Pharmaceuticals Inc., which is shutting down its Buffalo operation this May, as well as other area manufacturing operations.
Besides design, development and production of new drug products, QuaDPharma provides technical writing services and consulting.
