BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - It's one of Buffalo's great success stories and the Buffalo-Niagara Medical Campus showed off some big dreams for the future Wednesday night.
A master plan envisions a four neighborhoods, one community initiative, combining the efforts of UB, Roswell, Kaleida and others to create a 21st century medical synergy in the heart of Buffalo.
CEO Matthew Enstice said, "What's unique is that we've got a great collaboration amongst all the institutions. It does exist in other places, but we're taking it to another level and a big part of that is going to be around alternative energy. And we're working very closely with our first development here, a parking structure that is addressing the needs of electric vehicles."
Half a billion dollars worth of construction is already underway, and the campus expects to employ 12,000 people by next year.
