Two Canadian companies have decided to open U.S. locations in the Buffalo Niagara.

Fashion Village, a women’s clothing distributor has signed a lease to open a distribution center in Lewiston. Fashion Village decided to move the center to Lewiston to avoid paying high import tariffs.

The company will be hiring 10 people at the building, located on Center Street.

“This is one of our targeted industries (logistics and distribution,” said Tom Kucharski, Buffalo Niagara Enterprise president and chief executive officer.

The BNE played a critical role in bringing Fashion Village to Lewiston.

In addition, the BNE helped lure Kingswood Millwork, a firm that specializes in restoring historic doors and windows, to Buffalo.

Kingswood Millwork needed a U.S. presence to assist with restoration project it is working on in New York City, Kucharski said.
“They will now perform all the window and door restoration work on the New York City building while seeking to grow their U.S. customer base,” Kucharski said.

Kingswood Millwork has leased space on Lovejoy Avenue in Buffalo and will hire six people.
