Kemper System Opens North American Manufacturing Facility in Buffalo Niagara

Canadian running unit of German company draws on experience in location decision.

Kemper System Production, a construction product manufacturer that was a BNE project win last year, officially opened the doors to their new North American manufacturing facility on North American Drive in West Seneca on March 2nd, 2010.  The ribbon cutting, grand opening ceremony and plant tours were attended by representatives of Kemper's parent company in Germany, IBG Group of Companies.  Kemper produces state of the art roofing, waterproofing and surfacing solutions including their industry leading eco-friendly odor and solvent free systems.  The company has already created 10 new jobs at the facility and has plans to increase their workforce by 25-30 people over the next 12-24 months.  Kemper invested $3 million on the purchase, improvement and equipping of their new plant.

Access to the Canadian and South American markets, as well as quality and affordable workforce and industrial sites, helped to drive Kemper's decision to place their new facility in the Buffalo Niagara region versus locations the parent company was also considering in Florida and North Carolina.  But Kemper President Richard Doornink was also very persuasive in selling the region to IBG based on his previous experience of running an international company with operations in Buffalo, Mississauga, Ontario and Belgium.  The Buffalo Bills season ticket holder has been coming to the region since the 1980's and is rapidly becoming a great ambassador for our business attraction efforts.  Thanks to our partners at the ECIDA and the NYS Department of Labor with their help on this project and congratulations and welcome to Richard and his team.
