New solar company shines in Tonawanda

TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - The economic forecast is looking bright for a new solar company in the Town of Tonawanda.
Local officials joined the workforce of Electrosonic of America to celebrate its grand opening at the Riverview Technology Park. This company started as a small electronic business in Toronto almost 60 years ago. This year, it expanded across the border and already has more than 50 people on the payroll here.
Owner of Electrosonic of America, Joel Rosenthal, said, "The support that we've had from the state, from Erie County, from the Town of Tonawanda, and institutions such as the Buffalo Niagara Enterprise, and so many of you gathered here today from the business community, has been nothing short of astonishing."
The Tonawanda warehouse ships more than 750,000 items each year to a rapidly growing industrial market of wind, solar and alternative energy businesses.
