Database Lists Commercial Sites

The Buffalo Niagara Enterprise economic development organization has teamed up with the local trade group for commercial real estate brokers to launch a new electronic database listing commercial properties available for sale.

BNE and the Western New York chapter of the New York State Commercial Association of Realtors this week unveiled their new commercial multiple-listing service for the Buffalo Niagara region at www.buffaloniagaracls.com .

The new service, launched together with technology firm GIS Planning, combines real estate listings with community data on a new Web site that is available to both commercial real estate professionals and the public.

Besides listing available sites and buildings, the free service includes demographic, business and labor force information that has not previously been available at no charge. And it’s designed to help businesses analyze potential sites on which to locate by identifying advantages and opportunities in the community, according to a news release.

“In today’s world of corporate real estate and site selection, there has been a shift away from compiling hard facts on countless communities and a trend towards relying on the communities’ ability to effectively relay information on community data and real estate,” said BNE President & CEO Thomas A. Kucharski.

Kucharski noted that more than 90 percent of initial site selection screening by companies is now done online, and providing “immediate access to critical business development and site specific information” signals that Western New York is “a progressive community that is serious about attracting their business investment.”

The new service is part of the partnership between BNE and commercial brokers, who collaborate on efforts to attract new jobs to the region.

“We are reaching out to the entire commercial brokerage community, and inviting all New York State licensed brokers to include their exclusive commercial listings in the new system, completely free of charge,” said John Fletcher, president of the local chapter of the state trade group
