Canada picks new consul for Buffalo
by Allissa Kline
The Canadian Consulate General has appointed a new leader for its Buffalo office.
Marta Moszczenska was named Consul General on Sept. 25. The Montreal native replaces Steve Brereton, who moved to the Canadian Consulate General office in Atlanta.
Moszczenska, who joined the Canadian Foreign Service in 1977, most recently served as Canada’s ambassador to Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova. She has worked around the world, including Boston, Milan, Ottawa, Indonesia and central Europe.
The local Canadian Consulate General handles immigration, trade and public affairs programs throughout Upstate New York, western and central Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The office is located in HSBC Center in downtown Buffalo.
