NY Loves Clean Tech Goes to Germany

In an effort to maximize resources in the current economic climate, five upstate economic development organizations formed a collaborative effort to market regional and state assets at the 24th Annual European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference & Exhibition in Hamburg, Germany last week.  Operating under the banner "NY Loves Clean Tech" and with support from BNE investor National Grid, the initiative allowed BNE, Greater Rochester Enterprise, Mohawk Valley Edge, Albany based Center for Economic Growth and The Solar Energy Consortium to participate in the largest international photovoltaic tradeshow.  This global event brings together industry experts in research and development, utilities, leading companies in the industry, end-users and elected officials.  Over 34,000 attendees from 87 countries participated.

It was a very beneficial show as BNE staff met with four of our current leads and one of our current projects who were in attendance.  We also participated in a series of pre-qualified meetings arranged with the help of our colleagues in Empire State Development's International Division, while establishing contacts with over 40 new companies in the solar/pv industry.  Special thanks to National Grid for their support and to our NY Loves Clean Tech partners for their participation in this great event.
