M&T receives top Fed honor

M&T Bank has received an “Outstanding” Community Reinvestment Act rating from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

The CRA rating, which is the Fed’s highest, represents how well the bank meets the credit needs of communities it serves.

The Fed considers the number of consumer and small business loans the Buffalo bank originated, how well their geographic distribution was reflected in penetration into low- and moderate-income areas, and bank’s activity in community development loans and qualified investments.

M&T has earned a similar “Outstanding” rating in each CRA exam since 1982.
