WNY chapter of NYSCAR launches marketing initiatives and technology at March 26th event

Buffalo, NY The WNY chapter of the New York State Commercial Association of Realtors (WNY NYSCAR) unveiled strategic marketing initiatives and technology at a major membership event Thursday, March 26 at Harry's Harbour Place Grille.

More than 100 commercial brokers and stakeholders from across WNY met under the NYSCAR umbrella to learn about the organization and discuss shared goals to advance the Buffalo Niagara region. Representatives from the scientific community, historic preservation, economic development, tourism, architecture, engineering, commercial real estate development and brokerage, construction, higher education, planning, insurance, law, accounting, and government came together to talk about working together to leverage their market reach inside and outside the region using WNY NYSCAR's monthly forum, website, and the Buffalo Niagara Commercial Listing System (BNCLS), a global property listing gateway with 180,000 users nationwide.

Thomas Kucharski, president & CEO of Buffalo Niagara Enterprise, discussed "Buffalo Niagara on the International Stage," describing recent meetings with relocation prospects in Europe and also detailed this region's competitive advantages to attract foreign and domestic manufacturers in photovoltaic, thermal solar, wind component, and life sciences technologies.

Nancy McKellar, vice president, regional sales, Catylist Real Estate Software, described the importance of the BNCLS in the region's ability to develop a strong information database of commercial real estate opportunities. A collaborative initiative of Buffalo Niagara Enterprise and the WNY chapter of NYSCAR, the System is a regional link in the nationwide Catylist network of commercial information exchanges and one of the preeminent listing services in the nation.

Chapter past president, Kristin Badger-Bach, CCIM, addressed the community's need to be informed, passionate, and communicative about the strengths and unique assets of the region—as a place to do business, access talent, and grow companies—and as one of the most livable places in the nation. "We have what people all over the world would die for: a temperate climate, one-fifth of the fresh water of the world, abundant food, huge power resources, and motivated and innovative people that are reinventing the way we live and work. Not only that—we are recognized internationally for our museums, historic sites, world class architecture, gorgeous affordable homes, 20-minute commute and some of the best food on the planet. We need to get the word out. Tonight we are opening our doors at NYSCAR to every person in the community working hard to advance the region. We want you as partners, colleagues, and collaborators. We need to use our combined talents and resources to educate ourselves, our neighbors, and the outside world about Buffalo Niagara and all we have to offer. The new WNY NYSCAR website and the BNCLS target people who relocate companies—commercial real estate professionals all over the region, the state and the nation. These are the people we want to get to and I am asking everyone in this room to join NYSCAR and help us spread the word."
